MEGA, within the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility program “Acts of Care”, remains firmly committed to caring for the society and supporting vulnerable social groups.
The company implements long-standing and multi-award-winning social contribution programs, delivering measurable results that meaningfully improve citizens’ quality of life, with consistency and continuity.
Each year, MEGA donates more than 9 million product units, supporting organizations and institutions that assist vulnerable social groups across Greece, while, simultaneously, implements major sponsorship initiatives focused on the long-term strengthening of social cohesion.
Below are some of the most significant social impact programs implemented by the company in recent years:
- Support for the Hellenic Red Cross
For the past two years, MEGA has consistently supported the Hellenic Red Cross through the donation of personal hygiene products exceeding 1.4 million units.
- Program: “Together for Their Health”
In collaboration with the NGO “Child Trauma Prevention” and Galaxias Super Markets, the “Together for Their Health” program—now in its 11th consecutive year—provides modern medical equipment to Pediatric Clinics of Public Hospitals across Greece.
From 2018 to date, more than 97,000 children have benefited from the program.

For the 5th consecutive year, in collaboration with AB Vassilopoulos Super Markets, MEGA donated baby diapers to:
- To Hamogelo tou Paidiou (The Smile of the Child)
- SOS Children’s Villages
- Child Protection Center of Attica “I Mitera”
During 2025, more than 140,000 diapers in total, were donated to the three organizations.
- Program: “Mother & Child” – Access to Healthcare for All
In collaboration with Sklavenitis Stores and Doctors of the World, MEGA has been implementing the Mother & Child program for the 6th consecutive year, aiming to support underprivileged or uninsured pregnant women and mothers who lack access to healthcare.
Since the launch of the program:
- Over 18,000 free pediatric visits have been conducted
- More than 9,000 infants and children have received free pediatric care
- Over 10,000 vaccines have been administered to children
Additionally, more than 1,500 women have received free gynecological care, over 280 pregnant women have undergone prenatal examinations, and more than 6,000 MEGA baby product kits have been distributed free of charge.
- “Shelter of Care” – Support for a Vulnerable Family
In collaboration with Masoutis Super Markets, part of the annual expenses of a family from the SOS Children’s Village of Plagiari was covered this year as well, offering substantial support for essential household maintenance costs.
- Care for Children through the program “Power of Joy”
In collaboration with Thanopoulos Super Markets and the Christian Girls’ Shelter “Agia Anna,” Mega covered the expenses for occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychological support for three girls residing at the facility.
- National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Campaign
In partnership with the NGO “Apostoli” of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, informative talks and memory tests were conducted, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis.
- Program: “Remind Me”
MEGA supported the work of the “Alma Zois” Association through the participation of EVERYDAY and POM PON brands, encouraging women over the age of 20 to undergo regular preventive breast cancer screenings through the “REMIND ME” platform.
- Support for the Association “ELPIDA – Association of Friends of Children with Cancer”
MEGA proceeded with a significant donation of personal hygiene products, including:
- The creation of special care kits for mothers of children hospitalized or hosted at the “Marianna V. Vardinoyannis – ELPIDA” facilities.
- The supply of baby care and cleaning products for a full year, covering the children’s basic needs.
- The organization of a Christmas celebration for children of the Oncology Unit, offering moments of joy, creativity, and optimism.
- Support for the Athens Association of Families with Many Children
For the 10th consecutive year, the company fully covered school supplies for 200 children starting first grade, while also awarding four scholarships of €1,000 each to students with outstanding academic performance.
